Press Release of Ultra-Seal:

Ultra-Seal exceeds all expectations with exceptional tyre test results for 2019

The success story of Ultra-Seal continues with an increasing number of customers convinced of the tyre sealant’s multiple benefits in terms of cost savings, reducing breakdowns and decreasing C02 emissions.

The Ultimate Tyre Life Extender has proven its multiple benefits once again with both current and new customers by reducing tyre-related breakdowns by 50-75% and increasing tyre life substantially.

Anders Nielsen & Co. reported an extraordinary result of 95% less tyre related incidents on the 373 Ultra-Seal equipped trailers in comparison with their 1237 trailers still to be treated. Similar excellent test results have convinced Remitrans to equip its full fleet of 350 trailers. TIP Trailer Benelux are now in the process of fully equipping their fleet, following in the footsteps of TIP Trailer Nordics where country manager Martin Nielsen recently stated that no punctures had occurred amongst the first Ultra-Seal equipped trailers that so far covered 2,668,005 km.

Top 3 OEM supply in Europe has now been secured by Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone recently agreeing to exclusively offer trailer tyres treated with Ultra-Seal, this is in addition to current customers Schmitz Cargobull and Kässbohrer.

“The results that we have seen so far in 2019 are really exceptional with a massive reduction of tyre-related breakdowns and great operational savings for our customers. This whilst also keeping the environmental factor in mind and providing our customers with an effective tool in decreasing C02 emissions through up to 40% longer tyre life and fuel reduction of up to 3%” says Sales Manager Wendy Cabooter.

TIP Trailer Services Nordic - reducing the number of tyre-related breakdowns

Since May 2017, TIP Trailer Services Nordic has been testing Ultra-Seal on a representative number of assets. As to why TIP Trailer Services initiated the test, Martin Nielsen, Operations Manager of TIP Trailer Services Sweden, explains: “We wanted to explore the options to reduce the number of tyre-related breakdowns for our customers, whilst also reducing costs on our side. This would benefit all parties involved, including the environment.”

The overall results show a significant reduction in tyre-related breakdowns. Martin Nielsen says: “The assets have now covered 2,668,005 km and we haven’t seen a single puncture on them. Overall we expect that in the long term, Ultra-Seal will reduce the number of tyre-related breakdowns by around 60%.” “Our experience is that with Ultra-Seal, the tyre also holds the tyre pressure better. In our workshop, we see a pressure variation of 0-0.4 BAR from the standard pressure on assets with Ultra-Seal compared to a variation of 0.8 - 1.4 BAR on tyres without Ultra-Seal,” says Martin Nielsen. "With fewer breakdowns and tyre blowouts and thus less downtime for the asset and the customer, there’s obviously also an environmental upside to bear in mind,” concludes Martin Nielsen. The plan is to further implement the use of Ultra-Seal within the Nordic region during 2019-2020.

Schmitz Cargobull includes tyres with sealant from Ultra-Seal in its offers

Schmitz Cargobull has assigned Ultra-Seal as its exclusive tyre sealant supplier for selected tyres of Schmitz Cargobull trailers.

From May 2018, Schmitz Cargobull is offering trailer tyres with Ultra-Seal to its customers. The partnership with Ultra-Seal was finalized after having performed a comprehensive testing and clearance phase of the combination of Ultra-Seal with tyres, rims and valves. The 3-year contract between Schmitz Cargobull and Ultra-Seal involves supplier warranty on tyres and rims for approved combinations when using Ultra-Seal.

Schmitz Cargobull’s member of the Board of Directors, Boris Billich, states: “We are always interested in finding new products that can benefit our customers. We have closely followed tyre experiences with Ultra-Seal and the positive results there paved the road to approve Ultra-Seal as tyre sealant for Schmitz Cargobull.”

Carla van Santvoort, Manager at Ultra-Seal says: “The timing of completing the cooperation between Schmitz Cargobull and Ultra-Seal is perfect; we have put great effort into clearing some of the aspects that might raise questions or cause reluctance with end-users, such as the technical aspect on the warranty of rims and the political lobby against Ultra-Seal and the attack it has suffered from tyre associations. As Ultra-Seal has won all court cases against the BundesReifenVerband (BRV), it has shown that these aspects are no longer an issue. Furthermore, third-party suppliers are now offering normal warranty, so the road is cleared for customers to get maximum performance from their tyres, which we of course heavily applaud. We have worked hard on shifting the perception of an accepted tyre life towards an ‘I won’t settle for less’ mentality. This is a huge step forward in the tyre industry.”

Danish tyre industry tried to obstruct Danish transport companies

Prohibition of preventive sealing of tyres taken out of new guidelines after critical questions from DSV

Just before Christmas 2017 it was found that the Danish Road Safety Agency, in its new guidelines for trailer MOT, put a ban on all preventive sealing of tyres, which in the recent years have gained widespread popularity. The Danish Transport Agency had apparently introduced the ban due to safety problems in the use of preventive sealing, which was a mysterious conclusion for several transport companies as they had seen the opposite effects and saw major operational savings and a really improved security situation.

WHAT IS ULTRA-SEAL

After insertion

After inserting Ultra-Seal into the tyre and once the initial driving period has been attained for 10 kilometres, Ultra-Seal will be thoroughly distributed throughout the entire inner surface of the tyre-rim assembly. Ultra-Seal establishes a 2-3 mm coating which has the ability to remain suspended on the tyre-rim assembly’s entire inner air cavity.

Ultra-Seal is a liquid coating that conditions the inner surface and eliminates porosity and bead leaks as minute amounts of air attempt to escape. Ultra-Seal continuously stands on guard to protect tyres against air loss from punctures for the tyre’s legal tread life.
